Planning Committee

Join a Walk MS planning committee and make a difference in the fight against multiple sclerosis.

Volunteering with Walk MS: Northern California and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society can include more than just a one-day commitment. If you would like to become more involved, the Northern California Chapter can use your ideas, commitment, organization, and creativity on a planning committee.

As a committee member, you’ll meet new friends, meet new walkers or volunteers like yourself, help make a difference at your walk site and help create a great event. This is your chance to use your ideas and suggestions and actively make change happen. In addition, you can still walk and raise money toward a world free of MS.

What does a committee member do?

  • Committee members run a specific area at their local walk site, such as breakfast, lunch, registration, and much more.
  • Committee members are responsible for being leaders in their areas. They will train their volunteers for Walk MS, manage their volunteers the day of Walk MS, and help think of creative ways to recognize their volunteers’ dedication and hard work after the walk.
  • Committee members also have the opportunity to walk with their teams.

What does it take to be a committee member?

  • Committee members have usually volunteered in the past at a walk site.
  • Committee members attend monthly meetings until the Walk and additional trainings as needed.
  • Committee members are cheerleaders, motivators, trainers and coordinators.

So why should I sign up?

Volunteers are essential to a successful Walk MS: Northern California. Committee members go that extra mile to make the Walk MS: Northern California a memorable event for our community!

I’m sold! How do I sign up?
